It’s Christmas morning, and we’ve just finished opening presents at Castle Milk. With a little time on my hands, I wanted to swing by the site to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas from all of us at Oilersnation. Whether you’re celebrating with friends or family at home or checking in from parts unknown, I hope you’re seizing the day with the people who mean the most to you.
If you’re fortunate enough to have the day off, I hope you spend it doing whatever brings you the most joy—even if that includes chirping me in the comments about my incessant love of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Despite another whirlwind start to the campaign for our beloved squadron, it’s always a pleasure to discuss the Oilers with all of you. I’m incredibly grateful that we get to share this passion daily and that all of you are as engaged as we are.
We might debate contracts, line combinations, trades, and every other detail you can imagine, but our site continues to thrive year after year thanks to the amazing community we’ve built over the past 17 years. You, the Nation Citizens, are the backbone of our success, and we sincerely appreciate each and every one of you. The fact that I get to do this for a living only happens because of all of you, and I’m endlessly grateful that your support has given me this opportunity.
Even though there are no games to chat about for the next few days, we’ll still be bringing you some fresh content throughout the week to make sure you’ve got something to read. It’s not lost on me how fortunate we are to do what we love for a living, and it’s all possible because of your support. Whether you’re clicking on our articles, tuning into our podcasts, buying merch, taking #NationVacations, or any mix of the above, I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you this morning and wish you all a Merry Christmas.
Now that the mushy stuff is over with, I’m going to polish off the rest of this bottle of Baileys and watch Die Hard, which, without question, is a Christmas movie. Do I watch it every year because of that excuse? Yes, it’s an easy sell, so I’m not debating it. After the movie is, I plan to indulge in some festive treats before settling in for a blissful afternoon nap. If that’s not what Christmas day is about then I don’t even know what we’re doing here.
Have a fantastic day off, everyone. I hope you get to take a break from the hustle and spend your day exactly how you want it. Merry Christmas and thank you for everything you do — it’s truly appreciated!
