As we all move on through this pandemic, you are going to be inundated with bad news, sad news and all the other. We hope you have enjoyed the brief distractions we have been able to provide you throughout this in the form of Playoff Sims that we have been running. Tomorrow night will be Game Five in the Oilers/Canucks series at 7PM MT live right here, but as we have from the start, we thought it wise to provide you updates as to how the other series are going as well.

Game 3 Washington/Carolina final score: 5-4 Washington (Series 2-1 tied)
Game 2 6-2 WSH
Game 1 3-2 CAR

An unreal push by the @Washington Capitals to start the game. All over the Hurricanes through two periods before the Hurricanes awoke in the third and made a game of it but just came up show in their rally. @Alexander Svechnikov and @Alex Ovechkin digital performances make me beg to have the real thing soon.

1st –

WSH – 5:12 Ovechkin (Carlson, Kuznetsov)
WSH – 5:24 Vrana (Backstrom, Oshie)

2nd –

WSH – 0:38 Dillon (Vrana, Backstrom)
WSH – 18:06 Ovechkin (Kuznetsov, Jensen)

3rd-

WSH – 2:30 Wilson (Kuznetsov, Ovechkin)
CAR – 10:07 Foegele (Staal, Williams)
CAR – 13:54 Teravainen (Svechnikov, Slavin)
CAR – 16:08 Svechnikov (Aho, Teravainen)
CAR – 19:15 Svechnikov (Dzingel, Williams)

Three Fists-

3. WSH E. Kuznetsov (3A)
2. WSH A. Ovechkin (2G, 1A)
1. CAR A. Svechnikov (2G, 1A)

Game 3 Philadelphia/Pittsburgh final score: 4-2 Pittsburgh (Series 2-1 PIT)
Game 2 4-3 OT PIT
Game 1 4-1 PHI

Cooler heads prevail in this one from the last one as both teams seem to stick to the on ice play. The Penguins come into Philadelphia and take back home ice advantage for now.

1st –

PIT – 5:31 Schultz (McCann)
PHI – 7:55 Giroux (Voracek, Couturier)

2nd –

PIT – 6:06 Tanev (McCann)
PIT – 6:47 Letang (Crosby, Simon)

3rd-

PHI – 5:04 Hayes (Konecny, Laughton)
PIT – 18:53 Malkin (Hornqvist, Rust)

Three Fists-

3. PIT E. Malkin (1G)
2. PIT J. McCann (2A)
1. PIT K. Letang (1G)

Game 4 Nashville/St. Louis final score: 3-2 OT St. Louis (Series 2-2 Tied)
Game 3 2-1 NSH
Game 2 4-1 STL
Game 1 3-2 NSH

In spite of a huge effort from @Calle Jarnkrok, the Blues take this one in the longest overtime of our sim playoffs so far and it’s now a Best-Of-Three series for them now. Back to St. Louis!

1st –

STL – 8:25 Schenn (Schwartz, O’Reilly)
NSH – 18:21 Jarnkrok (Ellis, Johansen)

2nd –

STL – 8:31 Sundqvist (Scandella, Kyrou)

3rd-

NSH – 0:56 Jarnkrok (Duchene, Josi)

2OT-

STL – 2:09 O’Reilly (Pietrangelo)

Three Fists-

3. STL J. Binnington (26 saves, .928 SV%)
2. STL R. O’Reilly (1G, 1A)
1. NSH C. Jarnkrok (2G)

Game 4 Colorado/Dallas final score: 2-0 Dallas (Series 3-1 DAL)
Game 3 4-3 OT DAL
Game 2 2-1 COL
Game 1 5-2 DAL

The @Dallas Stars are absolutely the best team in this series. They have tested the Avs goalies more. They have limited the big names in Colorado to less and less chances. It’s just watching an upset in slow motion right now. I can’t imagine this series comes back to Colorado a second time.

1st –

DAL – 5:24 Hintz (Pavelski, Benn)

2nd –

No Goals

3rd-

DAL – 19:20 Sekera (Seguin)

Three Fists-

3. DAL R. Hintz (1G)
2. COL P. Francouz (35 saves, .972 SV%)
1. DAL B. Bishop (27 save shutout)

Game 4 Boston/New York (I) final score: 3-2 NYI (Series 3-1 NYI)
Game 3 3-2 OT BOS
Game 2 2-1 OT NYI
Game 1 4-1 NYI

Panic time in Mass as the Bruins find themselves in strange territory. Coming home on the brink of elimination to Barry Trotz and his Islanders club. The game was slow, the pace was slow until the third when the @New York Islanders came out for the third something changed. Here we are, the Bruins are in trouble.

1st –

BOS – 0:11 Kuraly (Chara)

2nd –

BOS – 17:43 Ritchie (Coyle, Bjork)

3rd-

NYI – 2:55 Nelson (Beauvillier, Brassard)
NYI – 13:00 Koivula (Komarov)
NYI – 16:24 Lee (Eberle, Barzal)

Three Fists-

3. NYI S. Varlamov (23 saves, .920 SV%)
2. NYI B. Nelson (1G)
1. NYI Lee (1G)

Game 4 Tampa Bay/Toronto final score: 2-1 Tampa Bay (Series 3-1 TBL)
Game 3 4-3 TOR
Game 2 5-1 TBL
Game 1 4-3 OT TBL

For the first time in the series, Kuznetsov (current Playoff scoring leader) did not factor in on the score sheet. Instead in this one, the Leafs pepper Vasilevskiy and he is more than up to the challenge. The Leafs D let Andersen down in OT with two breakaways, one leading to the goal.

1st –

No Goals

2nd –

TOR – 9:47 Nylander (Tavares, Marner)
TBL – 12:34 Stephens (Shattenkirk, Johnson)

3rd-

No Goals

1OT-

TBL – 9:19 Johnson (Gourde, Cernak)

Three Fists-

3. TOR F. Andersen (28 saves, .933 SV%)
2. TBL T. Johnson (1G, 1A)
1. TBL A. Vasilevskiy (39 saves, .975 SV%)

Game 4 Vegas/Calgary final score: 3-1 Calgary (Series 3-1 CGY)
Game 3 4-1 VGK
Game 2 3-2 CGY
Game 1 4-0 CGY

If you’re an Oilers fan reading this, I am shocked at these outcomes. @David Rittich has been pretty bad digitally throughout our sims, but he is dismantling a good (not great) offense in the Golden Knights. They look to the close out the series and line up with the Oilers in round 2.

1st –

VGK – 15:04 Karlsson (Stone, Martinez)
CGY – 19:21 Monahan (Tkachuk, Gaudreau)

2nd –

CGY – 9:21 Ryan (Andersson)
CGY – 9:46 Andersson (Rieder, Bennett)

3rd-

No Goals

Three Fists-

3. CGY D. Ryan (1G)
2. CGY R. Andersson (1G, 1A)
1. CGY D. Rittich (30 saves, .967 SV%)

Where the series stand right now:

West
STL 2 – NSH 2
COL 1 – DAL 3
VGK 1 – CGY 3
EDM 3 – VAN 1
East
BOS 1 – NYI 3
WSH 2 – CAR 1
TBL 3 – TOR 1
PHI 1 – PIT 2
