This morning, the NHL released a 22-page document regarding their return to play protocols, including a look at safety measures, testing, travel and a whole lot more.
Over the weekend, the NHLPA voted in favour of further negotiating the NHL’s return to play plan that would see 24 teams vying for the Stanley Cup. While this has no doubt been a positive step towards getting the players back on the ice, there is still a laundry list of additional questions that remain regarding player safety, testing, and permitted personnel among others.
This morning, the NHL looked to satisfy some of those questions with an in-depth look at some of the steps and procedures that the league will have to walk through if they’re going to make this work. With the health and safety of the players, accompanying staff, and community at large of the utmost importance, this document describes the initial steps the league will follow as they attempt to reach some kind of conclusion on the 2019-20 NHL season.
