The National Hockey League says they have identified nine new cases of COVID-19 in its latest batch of testing.
The league has conducted a total of 2,900 tests as of Monday on 396 players that have engaged in phase two activities. A total of 23 cases have been announced by the league, eight more than the league announced on June 29th.
One other player tested positive outside of the phase two protocol bringing that total to 12. All players who have tested positive are following protocols set in place by the CDC and Health Canada.
The NHL and its teams will not be identifying players who test positive without approval from the NHL or NHLPA.
