The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to close out their current five-game road trip on a winning note when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday as +120 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton has produced solid results so far on the team’s longest road trip of the season, posting wins in three of four outings, and has now claimed victory in six of eight road contests going into Wednesday night’s game at the Pepsi Center.

The Oilers rose to the occasion in a visit to Arizona on Sunday, eking out a narrow 4-3 shootout win as +105 underdogs to increase their lead atop the Pacific Division standings to four points over the second-place Coyotes. The team is finally getting rewarded for their continued strong play with a boost to the top of the odds to win the Pacific Division, where they are now set as +275 favourites at online betting sites.
After struggling early on in the campaign, the Oilers have been getting steady offensive production during their current surge on the road. Edmonton shooters have potted four or more goals on five occasions during the team’s 6-2-0 run, while surrendering just 2.75 goals per game. That has resulted in solid returns for those taking the OVER in totals betting, which has gone 4-1-1 in the Oilers’ past six road dates, ending a 7-0-0 run for the UNDER.
The Oilers have also impressed in recent visits to Colorado, picking up the win in four of their past five road dates with the Avalanche. Edmonton has averaged five goals per game during that stretch to fuel a 5-0-1 run for the OVER, but came up short in their last date at Pepsi Center, falling 6-2 to the Avalanche as a +180 underdog on April 2.
The Avalanche will be trying to snap a two-game losing streak when they hit the ice on Wednesday night as -140 home chalk. Colorado is coming off a 5-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs as slim +100 underdogs on Saturday night, which also marked the club’s fourth loss in six home dates.
Colorado was also dominated in a 6-2 loss to the Oilers in Edmonton on November 14, but has posted wins in 12 of 16 home dates with Pacific Division opponents since January 2 according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
