The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to keep pace with the division-leading Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night when they wrap up a three-game road trip against the Chicago Blackhawks as slight -105 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton continued its recent strong play with a 2-1 overtime win in Dallas on Tuesday night, and will be aiming to establish their first four-game win streak since October in Thursday night’s matchup at the United Center.

In addition to mounting a successful comeback in a 3-2 win over Winnipeg on Saturday, the team erupted for five third-period goals in an 8-3 shellacking of Nashville as +125 underdogs to open their current road trip. And with the offence falling silent in Tuesday’s win over the Stars as a +140 wager, it was netminder Mikko Koskinen’s time to shine, making 42 saves to power the Oilers to consecutive victories in Dallas for the first time since December 2013.
Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have powered the offence in the team’s three recent wins, with the trio combining to rack up 25 points. However, secondary scoring is still a concern for Edmonton, which has scored more than three goals in a game on just five occasions over its past 15 outings.
The performances by Draisaitl and McDavid have generated a tight battle between the two superstars in the race to be named NHL MVP, with the duo deadlocked atop the Hart Trophy odds as +200 co-favourites. The Oilers have also made gains on the NHL futures, separating themselves from the pack as +275 second favourites at sports betting sites to win the Pacific Division, and to an improved +1700 wager on the Stanley Cup odds.
However, the Oilers could have their hands full on Thursday against the Blackhawks, who have posted wins in each of their past three outings. Chicago has outscored opponents by a 14-6 margin in its three recent wins, which come on the heels of a dismal 3-8-2 run.
The Blackhawks have produced steady results at home, going 6-3-1 over their past 10 such outings. They have also limited Edmonton to four total goals while taking two of their last three home dates from the Oilers, capped by a 3-1 victory on October 14 that snapped Edmonton’s 5-0-0 start to the season.
