The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to tally consecutive wins for the first time in over three weeks when they visit the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday as +145 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton snapped a worrisome four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win in Dallas on Monday, extending a trend that has seen the club score two or fewer goals in seven of 10 outings going into Wednesday night’s matchup at Enterprise Center.

Once again, the Oilers relied on their power play to generate offensive production in the victory over the Stars as +160 road underdogs. This time it was Leon Draisaitl netting the game winner while the Oilers enjoyed the man advantage. And while Edmonton now leads the league with 34 power play goals through its first 36 contests, the team has managed to score just 10 even-strength goals over their past eight outings.
The Oilers’ low-scoring ways have continued to pay dividends to those taking the UNDER in totals betting, which has gone 7-4-1 over their past 12 games according to the OddsShark NHL Database. However, the team’s struggles to find the back of the net at even strength could emerge as an issue against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
The Blues’ steady penalty kill has contributed to the three-game win streak they take into Wednesday’s contest as -165 home favourites at betting sites. St. Louis is coming off a decisive 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche as -120 home chalk, and has now outscored opponents by a 13-7 margin during its current surge.
With each of the wins on their current streak coming at home, the Blues now sport a 6-2-0 record in their past eight games at Enterprise Center. That has helped them maintain their perch atop the Western standings, and lift them among the favourites on the Stanley Cup odds as a +1400 bet. But despite leading the way on the standings, St. Louis continues to lag behind the Avalanche as a +250 second favourite on the odds to win the Central Division.
