The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to put the brakes on a three-game road losing streak when they continue their current five-game road trip in Boston on Saturday afternoon as +170 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton opened its current Eastern swing with a 3-2 loss in Buffalo as a +105 wager on Thursday, and has now fallen to defeat in 12 of 17 overall contests going into Saturday’s matchup at TD Garden.

Oilers at Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Oilers’ recent struggles have left them squarely on the playoff bubble. After occupying first place in the Pacific Division for the first two months of the season, Edmonton has slipped to fourth place and sits deadlocked with Winnipeg and Calgary in a three-way battle for two Western Conference wild card spots. Despite their recent slide, the Oilers have remained resilient on the NHL futures, sporting +600 odds to win the Pacific Division, and maintaining respectable +2000 Stanley Cup odds at online betting sites.
However, the Oilers must regain their offensive touch if they are to remain in playoff contention. The team has potted two or fewer goals in 12 of their past 17 outings, and have been equally ineffective on the road, where they have scored just seven total goals over their past four contests.
And with Edmonton surrendering over four goals per game over its past six outings, bettors have been faced with mixed results on the totals, with the OVER going 3-1-2 over its past six games, ending a 5-2 run for the UNDER. However, the Oilers have enjoyed some success in recent dates with the Bruins. The teams split a pair of meetings last season, and the Oilers claimed the win in seven of their past nine dates with the Bruins, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, including a 3-1-0 record over their past four trips to TD Garden.
The Bruins are looking to overcome some struggles of their own as they prepare to hit the ice for Saturday’s clash as -200 home favourites. Boston has tallied just three total goals during a two-game slide, capped by Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Columbus as -225 home chalk, and has scored three or fewer goals in 16 of its past 18 games.
Overall, the Bruins have fallen to defeat in 10 of 14 contests, but continue to lead the NHL with a 14-1-9 home record.
