The Edmonton Oilers hope to continue their climb up the Pacific Division standings when they visit the Calgary Flames on Saturday as +125 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton rekindles its Battle of Alberta rivalry with Calgary riding a five-game points streak that leaves the Pacific Division rivals tied for third place in those standings with identical 24-17-5 records going into Saturday night’s matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Oilers at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

After falling to defeat in eight of their previous 10 contests, the Oilers are enjoying a New Year’s resurgence. The team has posted wins in each of the past three dates on their current five-game road trip to improve to 4-0-1 over their past five outings. Edmonton’s latest victory came on Thursday night, a 4-2 win in Montreal as a +110 wager at betting sites that lifted the team’s road record this season to a respectable 14-9-2.
The Oilers offence has been clicking during their current surge, averaging 4.6 goals per game over their past five outings. The team has also played stingy defence, limiting opponents to three or fewer goals in three of their past four games.
But while the Oilers have returned to striking distance of first place in the Pacific Division, a perch they held throughout the first two months of the season, they continue to lag on the divisional odds, joining the slumping Vancouver Canucks at +500, just ahead of the Flames, who are pegged +600 on those lines.
Set as -145 home favorites for Saturday, the Flames enter their second meeting of the season with Edmonton on a high after posting wins in each of their past four contests. And Calgary is coming off back-to-back 2-1 victories over Chicago and Minnesota in its past two outings.
The Flames recorded a decisive 5-1 win when they visited Edmonton as -105 underdogs back on December 27, and have allowed just 11 total goals while winning five of their past seven games against the Oilers. That has fueled a 4-12 run for the UNDER in totals betting during that stretch, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
However, the Flames dropped a 3-1 decision to the Oilers as heavy -200 chalk in their last home clash in early April.
