The battle for the top of the Pacific Division standings heats up on Wednesday as the Edmonton Oilers visit the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena as +170 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Oilers have stayed in the hunt for first place despite being hobbled by injuries that have sidelined several key players in recent weeks, with forwards James Neal (ankle) and Kailer Yamamoto (ankle) along with defenseman Oscar Klefbom (shoulder) all currently out.  General manager Ken Holland answered the call for reinforcements with a series of deals on Monday, adding forwards Andreas Athanasiou and Tyler Ennis plus defenseman Mike Green.

The moves paid immediate dividends for Edmonton on the Stanley Cup odds, where they vaulted to +1500. The Oilers have also gained traction on the odds to win the Pacific Division, where they now sit as +290 second favorites after lagging behind the pack in recent weeks.
But the Oilers can look forward to a tough test in Vegas, as Edmonton has produced mixed results against the Golden Knights. Their first win in four visits came back in November, with a 4-2 victory as +165 underdogs at betting sites to end a three-game slide at T-Mobile Arena. However, the team has produced steady results in the second half of back-to-back contests, going a perfect 5-0-0 this season, with each of those victories coming on the road.
The Golden Knights ride a six-game winning streak into Wednesday’s matchup as -200 home favorites at sportsbooks. Vegas shooters have filled the net during the team’s current surge, scoring five or more goals on four occasions, including a 6-5 win over the Ducks as -160 road favorites in their last outing on Sunday.
Vegas has also racked up five victories on home ice during its current surge, snapping a four-game losing streak. But despite their recent high-scoring ways, the Golden Knights have produced mixed results in totals betting, with the OVER going 4-3 in their past seven outings. The team has also regularly eked out victory by the narrowest of margins, with four of their six recent wins coming by just a single goal.
