After beating the Predators 3-2 at -110 at home on the NHL moneyline on Saturday the Oilers then got past the Blackhawks 5-3 as -115 favourites at sports betting sites on Tuesday night. Edmonton faced Chicago without Connor McDavid in the lineup, as he’ll be out of action for two to three weeks with a quad injury suffered against the Predators over the weekend.
Leon Draisaitl had a goal and three assists in that win over the Blackhawks, with Kailer Yamamoto scoring twice, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins adding a goal and an assist on the night. Mike Smith got the start between the pipes for the Oilers, allowing three goals on 41 shots.
The Oilers have now managed to pick up the win in six of their last nine games, with the OVER paying out on the betting totals in three of their last five outings according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
Tampa Bay ran its winning streak to eight games on Tuesday night with a 2-1 overtime road victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at +105 on the NHL moneyline. Mikhail Sergachev and Yanni Gourde scored for the Lightning, and Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 35 of 36 Penguins shots. Nikita Kucherov left Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury, while Steven Stamkos missed the contest with a lower-body injury of his own.
The Oilers and Lightning haven’t met since December 2018, when Tampa Bay topped Edmonton 6-3 as -155 road favorites on the NHL odds. Overall the Oilers are just 3-7 in their last 10 games against the Lightning, with the OVER/UNDER going 4-6 over those 10 games.
