The Edmonton Oilers will be making their second visit to San Jose in a week when they take on the surging Sharks on Tuesday night as +120 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton dropped a 6-3 decision to San Jose last Tuesday, continuing an uneven trend that has seen the club post wins in just three of seven contests going into Tuesday night’s game at the SAP Center.

Oilers at Sharks | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Oilers followed up last week’s loss to the Sharks as +115 road underdogs with a busy weekend on home ice. The team dominated in a lopsided 6-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche as -135 home chalk last Thursday, but was unable to protect a two-goal third-period lead on their way to a 5-4 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars as a -120 wager on Saturday afternoon.
Despite their recent struggle to produce steady results the Oilers remain atop the Pacific Division standings with a 13-6-3 record, and continue to close the gap on the favourites to win the Western Conference as they now sit as a +750 wager on those NHL odds.
The Oilers, though, continue to have work to do in their bid to solve the Sharks, whom they have fallen to defeat against in eight of nine overall meetings since December 2017, according to the OddsShark NHL Database. That run includes losses in four of five visits to the Bay Area, with the Sharks averaging 5.4 goals per game during that stretch, fueling a steady trend for the OVER which is 11-2 in the past 13 clashes between these two teams.
The Sharks return to action on Tuesday as -140 favourites at betting sites after extending their current win streak to six games with a narrow 4-3 win over the visiting Detroit Red Wings as -230 chalk on Saturday night. San Jose’s surge marks a dramatic turnaround from the team’s sloppy 4-10-1 start, and features five victories on home ice.
However, even with their current stretch of wins the Sharks remain back in seventh place in the Pacific Division standings, eight points back of Edmonton, and sit well back of the front of the pack as a +1100 wager to win the division this season.
