Oilers Sign Taylor Beck

The Oilers added some depth on Sunday by announcing the signing of winger Taylor Beck, a former third-round pick of the Nashville Predators (70th overall, 2009). Beck can play both the left and right side, and the 25-year-old will likely start the season with the Bakersfield Condors.
Beck spent most of last season with the New York Islanders top farm team in Bridgeport where he finished fifth in scoring with 33 points. He got into two games with the Islanders, taking his NHL career total to 87 games with 11 goals and 23 points.
The Niagara Falls, Ontario, product put up 58 points in his draft season with the OHL’s Guelph Storm, and followed that with two 90-plus point campaigns in his last two years of junior.

He consistently registered 40-plus points in the American League with Nashville’s farm team in Milwaukee, and after two short stints with the Predators, he finally got to stay for more than a few cups of coffee in ’14-15. Beck, who stands 6-foot-2, 203 pounds, played 62 games that year for the Preds and racked up eight goals and eight assists. He also got into five playoff games as well.
After the season, he was traded to Toronto but he was then moved to the Islanders in the deal that brought Michael Grabner to the Maple Leafs. The Islanders traded him to Colorado last February for Marc-Andre Cliché, and Beck was assigned to AHL San Antonio.
