Oilersnation Betway Bets of the Day — Buying into the Connor Bedard hype as the NHL season opens

Welcome back to another season of the Betway Bets of the Day!

It’s been a hot minute since this series was fired up. In fact, the last time we did I dove into some NHL draft stuff where we went 3/4 smashing on a few plus-money bets.

It helped end the season on a high note where over the course of the full season, I went 155-149 returning +16.82 units and a 5.55 per cent ROI. It was a great year, and my best betting as a whole, so let’s see what we can make happen this year.

Our first bet of the day will be taking Connor Bedard to o2.5 shots on goal. These odds sit at -182.

Let’s buy into the Bedard hype train today. There’s some juice here on this line, but the prop itself is at a number I like. In four pre-season games, Bedard took eight shots on goal hitting this prop twice and in his final season in the WHL, he averaged six shots on goal per game.

He’s someone who we all know has an elite, deceptive shot that already might be one of the best in the NHL. Let’s see what Bedard can to tonight.

Our second bet of the day will be taking Filip Forsberg to o2.5 shots on goal. These odds sit at -150.

Love this spot for Forsberg tonight. He has the third-highest SOG/60 among forwards on this slate and has averaged 3.02 shots on goal per game over his 11-year career. More specifically, he’s averaged 2.75 per game against the Lightning over his career hitting this prop in nine of 20 games.
