Hughes has been on fire to start the season scoring 13 goals and 29 points while firing 103 shots on goal. His 4.12 shots per game are a career-high and Hughes has hit this prop in three of his last five games and in 16/25 on the year.

I love his matchup tonight against a Chicago team giving up 32.43 shots per hour in their last five games, the sixth-worst rate in the league.

Our second bet of the day will be taking Martin Necas to take over 3.5 shots on goal. These odds sit at +125.

Necas has taken 83 shots on goal in 25 games this year averaging 3.32 per game. He’s hit this prop in three of his last five games and in 11 of 25 on the season.

That being said, Necas has a great matchup tonight with the Carolina Hurricanes taking on the lowly Anaheim Ducks, who have given up 38.17 shots per hour in their last five games — the worst rate in the league by four shots.
