The Bets of the Day are brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day. All bets are for one unit unless otherwise noted.
Our first bet of the day will be taking o1.5 power play goals. These odds sit at +115.
Penalties and power plays have been a big story in the Stanley Cup Finals this year as there have been a staggering 245 penalty minutes handed out between the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers. The majority of it has been on the Panthers — 144, to be exact —and the Golden Knights have taken advantage of it.
Vegas has scored six power play goals on 17 chances so far through three games with their 35 percent conversion rate looking Edmonton Oilers-esque. Even after Panthers head coach Paul Maurice came out and said his team needed to be more disciplined ahead of game three, it didn’t change what happened on the ice as they afforded Vegas six power plays.
Couple what we’ve seen with Florida being so undisciplined not only in the finals but in the playoffs as a whole, I could see this bet once again cashing. In the same breath, Vegas’ penalty kill has operated at just 70.7 percent in the playoffs, so they could be susceptible to a Panthers power play goal, too.
