Oilersnation Everyday: A disappointing weekend versus Minnesota & Calgary

The Edmonton Oilers woes continued over the weekend following back to back loses extending their losing streak to three. Over those two games, the Oilers allowed 10 goals while countering with only five.

The first defeat came on Friday night falling 4-2 to the Minnesota Wild. Edmonton piled 40 shots onto Filip Gustavsson but only Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman managed to beat him. Meanwhile, the Wild only had 19 shots on Calvin Pickard with three beating him and then later adding an empty net goal too.

Moving onto Saturday, the Oilers came out flat versus the Calgary Flames in the Battle of Alberta going down 3-1 after 20 minutes. It continued to get worse for the Oilers with the Flames scoring three more in comparison to the Oilers two.

Even after a busy past few days, Edmonton get right back into the thick of things tonight versus the Los Angeles Kings. Since beating the Oilers in their return from the NHL All Star break, the Kings have a 4-2-0 record and most recently beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in overtime.
