Oilersnation Everyday: Back on home ice and itching for a win

The Edmonton Oilers get back on home ice tonight after their lone game road trip versus the Minnesota Wild. Things were looking good through 40 minutes for the Oilers but a disastrous third period allowing five goals led to a 7-4 loss.

They will be welcoming the New York Rangers to Rogers Place, who have had a good start to the season. The Rangers have won back-to-back games allowing only one goal in both versus the Seattle Kraken and Calgary Flames while scoring seven. Artemi Panarin is leading the way for New York with three goals and eight points in six games to start the year.

Tyler Yaremchuk, Liam Horrobin and Jay Downton will all be in the studio to get you prepared for tonight’s action. Today’s Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game show will also include Jonny Lazarus from Bleacher Report and The Hockey News. Jonny will give an insight into who the Rangers really are and the stories surrounding the team in the early days of the season.

From an Oilers perspective, how will things change tonight? Life without Connor McDavid will continue but the offence didn’t dry out completely after scoring four goals against the Wild. Evander Kane and Warren Foegele were big depth contributors and tonight the Oilers will need more of the same. Between the pipes, will it be Jack Campbell or Stuart Skinner? Also tonight, the Oilers will honour Doug Weight and Charlie Hurdy by inducting them into their Oilers Hall of Fame.
