The Edmonton Oilers continue to surprise us all. Last night, despite being down 2-0, the Oilers clawed their way back beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2. That victory extends the win streak to 11 with the Seattle Kraken next on the Oilers hit list.
The atmosphere was electric inside Rogers Place with Oilers and Leafs fans cheering on their teams from the opening puck drop until the final buzzer. Toronto had the first celebration of the night after Austin Matthews scored his league leading 34th goal on the first shot of the game. The Oilers put the pressure on but Toronto made it 2-0 midway through the second from Morgan Rielly. However, that didn’t matter because Edmonton didn’t go away with goals from Leon Draisaitl and Derek Ryan before Ryan McLeod scored the game winner late in the third period.
It was an outstanding game for the Oilers which was back stopped by another excellent performance from Stuart Skinner. Skinner stopped 25 shots for a save percentage of .925.
