The Edmonton Oilers decided it was time to make a change yesterday despite beating the Seattle Kraken 4-1 on Saturday night. Jay Woodcroft and his assistant coach Dave Manson, were relieved of their duties and replaced by Kris Knoblauch and Paul Coffey. Woodcroft leaves the Oilers with a 3-9-1 record this season; however, he has the best win percentage of all time by an Oilers coach.
What are your thoughts on this decision? The Finning/CAT YouTube live chat will be open throughout the show for you to leave your comments. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be reading to the comment section throughout the show, so do not hesitate to join in on the conversation.
There’s a press conference with every coaching change, and yesterday was no different. However, what was different was the feeling within the room. Jeff Jackson, Ken Holland, Kris Knoblauch and Paul Coffey faced the media after the decision, but the four were not on the same page. There were multiple moments throughout that left fans questioning what exactly was going on in the organization. Tyler and Liam will give their thoughts on what exactly happened during that media availability.
Towards the end of the show, Tyler returns from the Nation Vacation to Seattle today. He will briefly break down the trip and talk about the group’s reaction when Woodcroft and Manson lost their jobs. The two of them will also give their Betway picks for Knoblauch’s first game tonight versus the New York Islanders.
