Welcome, welcome, welcome friends to the first ever episode of Oilersnation Radio! It’s a brand new podcast here at the Nation that will be a little bit more Oilers-centered than what you’d hear on the Real Life Podcast but still packaged with the same kind of feel and vibe.
On this week’s episode, we start things off by recapping the Oilersnation Open golf tournament that was held out at Cougar Creek Golf Resort yesterday. Not only did we all have a great time, but we met so many great Nation fans and citizens that made the day an amazing success. From there, we got back on topic with a look at the Oilers and trying to figure out what’s holding up the Darnell Nurse contract. With Noah Hanifin signing an extension last night in Calgary, we looked at whether or not Nurse’s camp might try to use the $4.9 million that Hanifin got as a comparable. Next up, we looked at the season ticket holder letter that Bob Nicholson sent out and compared it to the letter the Rangers wrote their fans on Twitter a couple of years ago. Do you think the Oilers do enough to communicate with their fans? Lastly, we took some questions from Twitter on all things Oilers, ranging from Talbot’s ability to bounce back to how much leash Chiarelli and McLellan have with the organization. For a first episode, this podcast was chalk full of Oilers talk despite the fact that there’s not a whole lot going on right now. Fortunately, training camp is only a couple weeks away and that means there will be a lot to talk about!
Check out the first ever episode below and be sure to leave us your feedback on what you liked, didn’t like, or things you would like to hear us talk about.
