It’s Friday afternoon and that means a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio has been wrapped up, edited into a masterpiece, and ready to stimulate your ear feelings as you head into the weekend. This week, we looked at the NHL’s return, points predictions for the dynamic duo, World Juniors, and a whole lot more.
To kick off this week’s podcast, we jumped in with a look at the upcoming NHL season after it was announced that the league would be starting up on January 13th for a 56-game season. Knowing that the NHL is coming back, we did a way-too-early points prediction for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, guessing how many points the dynamic will get in an abbreviated campaign. We also looked at the All-Canadian Division, specifically at the team or teams that are likely to provide the biggest challenge for the Oilers in an abbreviated season. Jumping into the Giant Question of the Week, we discussed the best possible path for Evan Bouchard in 2021 and guessed at whether or not Ken Holland will bring him back from Sweden for training camp or leave him in the Allsvenskan league for the time being. Next up, we ran through a quick preview of the World Juniors Championship that’s slated to kick off in the city a little bit later in the month and offered up some love to Dylan Holloway who was named to the team’s roster this morning. Sticking with the prospects, we wrapped up this week’s podcast with a look at the amazing start to the season that Carter Savoie having with the University of Denver, which is drawing all kinds of attention here at the Nation.
