Oilersnation Radio Episode 214 – NHL Dynasties, Arbitration Hearings, and Xavier Bourgault

It’s Friday afternoon and that means we just wrapped up a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you get through what’s left of your day with a full hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today’s show, we looked at dynasties in the NHL, arbitration cases, the Calgary Flames, and a whole lot more.

Kicking off this week’s podcast, we got started with a debate about NHL dynasties and specifically which teams we would consider being a dynasty. While I’m not sure why Liam was thinking about this all morning, we all thought that nothing sets the tone for the podcast quite like a few minutes spent arguing with each other. Getting back to the Oilers, we spent a few minutes talking about Mattias Janmark and whether or not it was important to bring the guy in as a depth signing. Could he be a Foegele replacement if Ken Holland decides to move on? From there we looked at the upcoming arbitration hearings for Kailer Yamamoto and Jesse Puljujarvi, and whether either guy will actually make it through the process before having a contract signed. We also looked through a couple of Oilers rumours that are circling right now, and whether we have the creativity around here to make some of these deals work. Lastly, we wrapped up the podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap the week that was.
