This isn’t the first time we’ve ran similar simulations, but it sure is the first time we’ve seen the Oilers win the Stanley Cup in one.

First round

In the first round, we had a few sweeps in the Western Conference.
The Edmonton Oilers swept the LA Kings, the St. Louis swept Minnesota, while the Colorado Avalanche swept the Nashville Predators. Calgary, meanwhile, took the Dallas Stars to seven games coming out on top.
The Edmonton Oilers swept the LA Kings, the St. Louis Blues swept the Minneosta Wild, while the Colorado Avalanche swept the Nashville Predators. The Calgary Flames, meanwhile, took the Dallas Stars to seven game before coming out on top.
In the Eastern Conference, the Florida Panthers toppled the Washington Capitals in seven games, the Boston Bruins beat the Carolina Hurricanes in seven games, while the New York Rangers handled the Pittsburgh Penguins in five games. Lastly, the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in seven games.

Second Round

In a big battle of Alberta, the Oilers ended up sweeping the Calgary in four games. Colorado came back from being down three games to one to beat the St. Louis Blues in seven.
In the east, the Bruins beat the Rangers in five, while the Panthers handled the Leafs in five games as well.

Conference Finals and Cup Finals

In the Western Conference finals, the Oilers fell three games to two to the Avalanche before roaring back to beat Colorado in seven. Out east, meanwhile, the Panthers beat the Bruins in six games.
And lastly, in the Cup finals, the Edmonton Oilers beat the Florida Panthers in five games.
Watch the video above to see how it all shook down and how the Oilers’ players fared statistically through the playoffs.
