According to Oilers coach Todd McLellan, Oscar Klefbom is expected to make his return to the lineup on Wednesday against the San Jose Sharks.
On Saturday, it was announced that Oscar Klefbom would miss two games after undergoing a ‘minor procedure’ to determine whether further surgery would be required. Klefbom skated with his teammates this morning but will not be available for Tuesday’s game against the Calgary Flames. How Klefbom reacts to the procedure will determine what steps come next, and whether or not he will have to go under the knife for something more substantial.
The strange part of the story is that the Oilers have back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday but do not play again until Saturday in Florida. Wouldn’t it make more sense for the Oilers to give Klefbom the extra few days of rest? Though, we don’t know what the minor procedure that he underwent was, one could assume that it will still be tender after only a few days. However, with the Oilers keeping their cards close to the vest we may not find out until the season is over exactly what is happening with #77.
