The dates are set.
The Edmonton Oilers 2022 playoffs will kick off on Monday night at Rogers Place with the Los Angeles Kings coming to town. Times haven’t been set, but the two teams will meet again Wednesday night.
From there, they’ll head to LA for games three and four on Friday and Sunday, respectively, while the remaining three games, if needed, have yet to be set. I’d assume they would come Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of the following week to keep a day between games, but a back-to-back isn’t out of the equation.
Edmonton and Los Angeles met four times in the regular season with the Oilers taking three of those games. They outscored the Kings 13-12 in those games.
Edmonton’s lone loss came on Dec. 5, 2021 when they fell 5-1 in the midst of their massive slide. The Oilers’ wins came on Feb. 15 (5-2), March 30th (4-3 SO), and April 7th (3-2).
The Oilers are a much different team under Jay Woodcroft and Dave Manson after they were promoted on Feb. 10 than they were previously under Dave Tippett. Edmonton matched up well with the Kings down the stretch, and this is going to be a great playoff matchup.
