The Edmonton Oilers will be opening an important four-game homestand on Tuesday night when they play host to the Nashville Predators as +100 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The team returns home after dropping a 4-3 decision to the Calgary Flames on Saturday,  their first loss in regulation in six games going into Tuesday night’s matchup at Rogers Place.

Predators at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Oilers enjoyed a steady 4-0-1 run prior to Saturday night’s loss in Calgary as +125 underdogs at online sports betting sites, marking the first time since late November that the team had strung together consecutive wins. Edmonton’s recent surge has also returned the team to the thick of a tight five-way race for top spot in the Pacific Division.
Edmonton has struggled to produce consistent results in recent contests on home ice, going 3-6-2 over its past 11, and has surrendered 4.67 goals per game over its past six outings at Rogers Place. The Oilers managed to tighten things up defensively during their recent five-game road trip, allowing just 14 total goals, and have limited the Predators to three or fewer goals in four of the past five meetings between the two teams.
However, that stingy defense has not been enough to snap the Oilers’ current run of futility against the Predators, who will be gunning for an eighth straight win in Edmonton set as -120 favorites on Tuesday night.
Overall, Nashville has claimed victory in 14 of 15 matchups with the Oilers since March 2014, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, capped by a narrow 3-2 victory as -250 home chalk back on February 25. The Predators have also won decisively in each of their past three visits to Edmonton, outscoring the Oilers by a wide 11-2 margin while recording shutouts on two occasions.
And while the Predators have struggled to remain in playoff contention this season, they have shown signs of a turnaround of late. The team sports a 6-2-2 record over its past 10 dates away from Bridgestone Arena, capped by a 1-0 win in Winnipeg on Sunday, and has seen the OVER regularly pay out in totals betting, going 9-2-0 in its past 11 road dates.
