RADIO GA-GA: 630 CHED DEAL IS DONE

The Edmonton Oilers and 630 CHED have completed the ink on a new three-year deal that will see the station remain as rightsholder. Included in the package, the debut of Oilers NOW, a renamed version of the "Oilers Lunch" franchise from TEAM 1260, hosted by Bob Stauffer.

Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club announced today they have concluded a host broadcaster agreement with Corus Radio through the end of the 2013-14 NHL season.
This contract builds on a relationship between the Oilers and Corus that has broadcast every Oilers game since 1995. The Oilers game night radio show featuring the play-by-play team of Jack Michaels and Bob Stauffer will continue being broadcast on 630 CHED, the flagship station of Corus in Oil Country.
An exciting new addition to the Oilers and Corus partnership will be the debut of "Oilers NOW with Bob Stauffer" on 630 CHED commencing Monday, August 22nd. Oilers NOW will be a unique format in Oil Country, focused almost exclusively on the Oilers, NHL & WHL, and hockey in general.
Oilers NOW will be a two-hour fan interactive sports talk show, on-air between Noon and 2:00pm, Mondays through Fridays, 52 weeks of the year.
Oilers NOW will report and debate all the inside info on the Oilers and the hockey world as Bob Stauffer travels with Oilers coaches, players, and management daily, as well as NHL and WHL insiders.
Bob is uniquely positioned to know the inside details about Oilers hockey as it happens and report it first to hockey fans in Oil Country. Bob is well known for his insights, opinions, and vast connections with the who’s who of hockey.
"CORUS is the market leader in news and sports radio in Oil Country and our fans will be pleased to know they can stay tuned to everything the Oilers do or say by keeping their radio locked onto 630 CHED all day long," Oilers President Patrick LaForge said.
