Risky Business: Time to Steal One

I’m not sure what’s going on with the Oilers and struggling in Game 1 but that’s what we got two nights ago despite the fact that the Avs needed a freebie from the refs to close things out. Regardless of our thoughts on the blown offside call (IMO), there’s no time to sit and cry about it (*cough* Flames fans *cough*) so we’ll have to head into tonight’s rematch with the goal of stealing one on the road. Is it doable? I absolutely think so. We be bettin’!

Despite not getting the result we wanted, I actually fared pretty well with my betting game and that always makes a loss a little bit easier to swallow. Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather have the Oilers win but I can absolutely take solace in knowing I made a few shekels anyway.

With Darcy Kuemper out for the Avs, the Oilers have an opportunity to face a backup that has struggled lately and the boys absolutely need to take advantage. I’m not saying that it’s going to be easy or that Francouz isn’t capable, but the reality is that he’s not up to Kuemper’s calibre and the Oilers need to test him early and often.
