Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Starting next week, the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche will be kicking off their 2023 Stanley Cup campaign and that has me wondering what to expect from these final two games. As much as things like a division title would be nice to have, the most important thing I can think of is that all of our guys make it through the game in one piece. That said, these are two teams that want to win and I can also see a potential playoff preview like this — Gord willing, anyway — getting the competitive juices flowing. And given the lack of success the Oilers have had against the Avalanche over the last couple of years, it would be nice for the boys to get a win under their belts while also keeping the win streak alive.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Avalanche.

Player Prop:

Evan Bouchard to score 1+ point at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Easy Money:

Edmonton Oilers to score a power play goal at -167. My $5 bet would return $8.00.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon both to score 1+ goal at +200. My $5 bet would return $15.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Boston over Washington on the money line, Carolina over Detroit on the money line, and Pittsburgh over Chicago on the money line at 2.20. My $5 bet would return $11.04.

Last Game

Good times were had by all on Saturday afternoon, let me tell you. Outside of having Leon Draisaitl pick up a goal to complete my pre-built bet, I had a perfect afternoon and you love to see it. Big win, big wins.
  • Evan Bouchard to register an assist at +140. ✅
  • Oilers over 36 shots on net at -134. ✅
  • Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +200.
  • Edmonton over San Jose on the money line, Pittsburgh over Detroit on the money line, and NYR over Columbus on the money line at 2.89. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Avalanche.
