Risky Business: I Ottawant my bets to hit

After a tough outing against the Flyers on Thursday, I’m looking for the Oilers to come into this game with a bit of a chip on their shoulders. To me, that game against the Flyers was a wasted opportunity to pick up a second point to help move along in what is a very tight playoff race. Against the Senators, the Oilers will need to make sure their metaphorical pencils are sharp because many of the finer details of their game were either sloppy or non-existent against Philadelphia. Even though I personally believe that the Senators are a team that the Oilers can beat, there are no gimmes in this league and it’s going to take a full team effort to get the job done.

If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Senators:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots at +115. My $5 bet would return $10.75.

Over 1.5 total power play goals at +100. My $5 bet would return $10.00.

Connor McDavid and Evander Kane to both get 4 shots on goal at +200. My $5 bet would return $15.00.

Edmonton over Ottawa on the money line and Boston over Washington on the money line at 2.59. My $5 bet would return $12.95.

As far as painful evenings go, losing all of your bets while the Oilers follow suit is as rough as it gets for a casual bettor like myself. I need a shakeup here. I need to get back on track. Pain.
