Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
I don’t think any of us would say that Tuesday night’s win over the Philadelphia Flyers was the prettiest victory you’ll ever see, but the most important thing is that the Oilers got the result they needed. That said, there’s plenty of room for improvement. Heading into Pittsburgh, the Oilers are facing a team that’s lost its last three games and isn’t playing at the level they want to be, meaning this is an opportunity for our boys to take advantage of a team that is struggling a little bit. If we can get another effort like what we got in the third period against Philly then we’re going to be alright, but if we get what we got through the first 40 minutes then we’re going to be in trouble again. So what does that mean for my game day bets? A lack of confidence.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Penguins:

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to register an assist at 1.60. My $5 bet would return $8.00.

Easy Money:

Under 70.5 shots at 1.72. My $5 bet would return $8.63.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid anytime goal and the Oilers to win at 2.55. My $5 bet would return $12.75.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Minnesota over Columbus on the money line, NYR over Detroit on the money line, and Washington over Anaheim on the money line at 3.32. My $5 bet would return $16.62.

Last Game

It wasn’t the prettiest win we’ll ever see but I hit my Risky Business bet of the day and that one took care of everything else. Praise be to the betting Gords.
  • Zach Hyman over 3.5 shots at +105.
  • Over 62.5 total shots on goal at -118.
  • Connor McDavid over 1.5 goals at +400. ✅
  • Oilers over Philly on the money line, New Jersey over Montreal on the money line, and Tampa Bay over Anaheim on the puck line at 2.51.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Penguins.
