Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
From where I’m blogging — from the airport on the way to Vegas, to be specific — nothing would make me happier than for the Oilers to kick this series off with a big win on night one. Against the Kings, the boys started off well with a pair of two-goal leads but ultimately dropped the first game because of sloppy mistakes and costly penalties. My hope for tonight’s kick-off against the Golden Knights is that the boys will show that they learned their lesson. Even though Vegas won’t be anything like the Kings in terms of their style of play, there’s little doubt that the Oilers will need to be mindful of the details at both ends of the rink if they’re going to grab this first one.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Golden Knights.

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to score at +200. My $5 bet would return $15.00.

Easy Money:

Over 63.5 total shots at -118. My $5 bet would return $7.40.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +225. My $5 bet would return $16.25.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers to win and over 5.5 total goals at +160. My $5 bet would return $13.00.

Last Game

I don’t even care that I got killed on my bets in Game 6 because the Oilers did what they needed to do to close out the series. By no means was it the prettiest win we’ll ever see, but dammit it was beautiful to me.
  • Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots at +100.
  • Oilers to register over 32.5 shots on goal at -118.
  • Leon Draisaitl to score a goal and an assist at +175.
  • Oilers to win and over 5.5 total goals at +125. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Golden Knights.
