Risky Business: Montreal Calling

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL betting site Betway!
While everything in my body suggests that the Edmonton Oilers should be able to beat the Montreal Canadiens, I’m incredibly nervous about the way the boys will perform. Yeah, we can talk about the injuries and how the Oilers are missing four of their top nine forwards, but the bigger problem, to me, is how they tend to play down to their competition in scenarios like that. That’s not to say that the Habs are awful — at 12-10-1, their record is pretty close to ours — but I still consider them to be a team that we should beat more often than not. Am I crazy here? I don’t think so. As for my betting plays, I think be cautious is the move here.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Canadiens:

Player Prop:

Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots at +110. My $5 bet would return $10.50.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at -105. My $5 bet would return $9.76.

Risky Business:

Zach Hyman to register 2+ points at +167. My $5 bet would return $13.12.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Edmonton over Montreal on the ML, Minnesota over Anaheim on the ML, and New Jersey over Philly on the ML at 2.85. My $5 bet would return $15.45.

If you’re going to win two of four bets, it sure is nice to pull out the big daddy Risky Business parlay.
  • Zach Hyman over 3.5 shots at +100.
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -110. ✅
  • Kirill Kaprizov and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +300. ✅
  • Colorado over Buffalo on ML, New Jersey over Nashville on ML, and Dallas over Anaheim on ML at 3.09.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Canadiens.
