The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to stay perfect against Ottawa this season when they open a three-game home series against the visiting Senators on Monday as -225 favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton has swept the Senators in two previous series between the two teams this season, and now rides a four-game win streak against Ottawa into Monday night’s matchup at Rogers Place.

Senators vs Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Oilers’ domination of Ottawa in four meetings over a 10-day period starting in late January proved key to the team’s turnaround from a shaky start, and were among the first victories on Edmonton’s recent 11-2-0 run. While the Oilers came crashing back to Earth while dropping three straight to Toronto a week ago, they showed signs of regaining their winning form last time out, topping the Calgary Flames 3-2 on Saturday as -125 home chalk.
A big night from Connor McDavid was the difference in Saturday’s win. The Oilers captain ended a three-game pointless streak by getting in on every Edmonton goal. However, the team still has plenty of work to do to overcome their recent power outage. With both McDavid and Draisaitl being held in check, the Oilers have scored just four total goals over their past four outings, averaging a middling 2.56 goals scored over their past nine contests.
That may be good news for those taking the UNDER at online sports betting sites, which has paid out in 10 of the team’s past 15 contests. However, it could present a challenge for the Oilers as they prepare to face a resurgent Senators team who enter Monday’s series opener as lengthy +185 underdogs.
Losers in 13 of their first 15 games to start the season, the Senators have rebounded to post wins in seven of their past 12 outings, capped by a 4-3 shootout win in Calgary on Sunday night. With the victory in their series finale against the Flames the Senators put the brakes on a four-game losing streak on the road.
Ottawa has built its resurgence on a steadily improving attack. The team has scored four or more goals in four of its last seven outings after reaching that total just once in its first 20 contests. And while they have allowed seven goals on two occasions over their past four road dates, they have otherwise played steady defense, keeping their goals-against average under 3.00 over their past eight games.
The Oilers scored 12 times during a two-game sweep of Ottawa at Rogers Place five weeks ago. However, the Senators limited Edmonton to just seven total goals in their five previous visits.
