After another long, playoff-less summer, a brand new hockey season is peeking out of its wrapper and we wanted to throw a party to kick things off as an offering to the hockey gods as we begin our quest to get back into the playoffs. My friends, it’s time for the season opener party again and thanks to our friends at The Canadian Brewhouse, we’ve got a hell of a morning planned for you.
With a new manager and coach overseeing operations and the best player on the planet captaining the ship, we’re strapping ourselves in for another six-months worth of hope-driven shenanigans and we want all of you to be a part of it. I don’t think I need to tell anyone reading this that this season could be one of the most important in franchise history, and taking a step forward in the standings is absolutely critical. With a pair of the league’s best players riding shotgun on the first line and another potential scoring pair on the second line, we might actually have the potential to do a little damage again.
Now, I know that what happens in the pre-season doesn’t really have anything to do with what happens in October and beyond, but watching the boys get back to doing their thing sure started to get me fired up for more hockey. After another long and horrible offseason, my hope has been renewed after another round of managerial musical chairs saw the old boss being shown the door and a promise of stability coming in to replace him. Will those changes translate to improved results on the ice? I Gord damned hope so, but one thing I know for sure is that I can’t wait to find out.

IT’S A BRUNCH PARTY

If you’re anything like me then the reality of your life is that you’re always down for breakfast. That’s why I was so excited to hear that we would be doing this year’s Season Launch Party on a Saturday when the Oilers had a matinee. Not only does a matinee party give you a solid excuse for a day drinking session, it also kickstarts your Thanksgiving weekend in a way that you may or may not forget, depending on how the team does. With six long playoff-less months behind us, the excitement around here is growing to the point where we’re ready to blow the roof off the place and I’d love to see that happen for a house packed with Nation Citizens.
Not only is the launch of a new season the perfect way for us all to get together, but it’s also an opportunity to get involved in the community and raise some money for a local charity while we’re at it. If you’ve ever been to one of our parties before, you’ll already know that we’ll have plenty of prizes to giveaway to go along with the swag bag you already get with your ticket, but also that net proceeds from tickets sales go to charity. With that in mind, we’d love to see as many of you in attendance as possible to help us kick off the new season in style.

GIVE ME THE DETAILS, GUY

If you’ve ever been to one of our events, you’ll already know that your ticket to the event will not only guarantee you memories that last a lifetime, a swag bag that will help power to your through life, but it also helps us raise money for a local charity all at the same time. This time around, we wanted to make the event as accessible as possible so that we can pack the Brewhouse and kick off the season with as many Nation citizens as we get in the building. And since the party starts so early on a Saturday, the Brewhouse is able to offer an all-ages event, meaning this is the perfect event to bring your kids to.
