The 2023 Season Launch Party

If you’ve been following the Nation for any length of time then you’ll already know how much we love to throw hockey-related parties, and this year’s season opener at Greta on October 11th is more of the same.

There’s nothing better than the days leading up to a new hockey season, amirite? Training camp rosters are being whittled down across the league, the never-ending pre-season is in full swing, and the belief that our beloved heroes in blue and orange can become champions is at its highest point of the year. It’s beautiful. The Kool-Aid is strong at this time of year and it is going down real smooth-like, my friends. And in 2023, I’m pumping glasses back like we’re prepping to celebrate the Willennium. Before the slap… you know what I mean. The Nation is fired up, we should very much compete to win it all, and the time to start hyping yourself up for 82 games worth of shenanigans is right here and right now.

The point I’m trying to make is that the start of the hockey season is something worth celebrating, and that’s exactly what we plan to do at Greta when the season opens against Vancouver on October 11th. If you’re looking for a place to kick off the year, then there’s no better spot to do it than you’re closest Internet friends with the knowledge in your pocket that the whole thing is happening for KidSport. As if getting out with the squad for some wings, a game, and a chance to win all kinds of cool ass prizes isn’t enough of a reason to come, raising money for a great cause at the same time is the cherry on what was already a delicious metaphorical sundae. Everybody wins, and we’d love for you to join us.

Not only is the launch of a new season the perfect reason to get everyone together, but it’s also an opportunity to get involved in the community and raise some money for a local charity while we’re at it. Not enough? We’ve got a basket full of prizes to giveaway — including 15 chances to attend a certain outdoor affair late in the month *wink* — to go along with the swag bag you already get with your ticket. Most importantly, net proceeds from the party will go to KidSport to help in their mission to give more kids the opportunity to participate in sports of all kinds. Partnered with the fine folks at Greta, we’re going to launch a new year together in style.
