That’s certainly a way to rebound.
After a lacklustre 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals at home earlier this week, the Oilers pumped the Arizona Coyotes by a score of 8-2. Connor McDavid led the way with two goals and four points, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored a pair of goals, and the team got depth contributions from Klim Kostin and Derek Ryan.
Below are the highlights from the game…

THE DAY AFTER IS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

The Oilers grabbed a 1-0 lead early in the first period when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins converted on Edmonton’s first power play opportunity of the game…
It was the bottom-six that extended the Oilers’ lead to 2-0 shortly before the end of the first frame. Derek Ryan chipped the puck past both Coyotes defenders at the Arizona blueline and battled his way through for a breakaway…
The Oilers converted on another power play a few minutes into the second period to make the score 3-0. Connor McDavid picked up his own rebound from the slot and fed Leon Draisaitl down low for a one-time snipe…

The Coyotes managed to get on the board after a breakdown in Edmonton’s zone. Jack McBain grabbed a loose puck and shoved it past Stuart Skinner…
The Oilers didn’t allow the Coyotes to gain any momentum from that goal. Under one minute later, Kailer Yamamoto forced a turnover at Arizona’s blueline and Nugent-Hopkins went in and scored on a breakaway…
With a couple of minutes to go in the second period, Brett Kulak officially made this game a laugher…
The fourth line buried another goal in the third period to give the Oilers a 6-1 lead. Derek Ryan forced a turnover in the Coyotes’ zone and Klim Kostin capitalized…
Connor McDavid got in on the action in the third period as well, scoring his 23rd and 24th goals of the season. The first came off of a gorgeous backhand pass from Leon Draisaitl and then he squeaked a one-timer through for the second…
To put a bow on this game, Klim Kostin completed the Gordie Howe hat trick by dropping the gloves with former Oiler Zack Kassian…
