Blasphemy, you may cry.
But according to a report from TSN 1260’s Tom Gazzola, the Oilers are looking to roll with their navy jerseys on a full-time basis next year.
The jerseys are sharp. A clean look and one that still honors the traditional blue and orange, just in a slightly different way.
Edmonton revealed the navy jersey with orange accents back in Sept. 2019. They were originally brought in to be an alternate jersey and this past year, the Oilers rolled them out more often. The Oilers wore them in 12 out of 28 home games this past season wearing their reverse retro’s just once at home. Otherwise, the Oilers were in their standard home orange jerseys the rest of the way.
Based on Gazzola’s report, and what we saw from last year, I could imagine a world where we see the Oilers utilize their home blue’s around 43 percent of the time, much like we saw last year with the alternate blues.
Nonetheless, it looks like we’ll be seeing more of the navy blues this year.
