It’s a night that is a decade in the making as Oilersnation turns 10 years old this year and we’re throwing a party to celebrate.

Can you believe it’s already been 10 years since Wanye and the Squire dialled up into the Internet and founded this crazy little website known as Oilersnation? I remember when I found this site back in 2008, a year after it started, and thought how bonkers it was that there was a community of people rallying around a different flavour of Oilers coverage than what we were used to and that they were having a good time while doing it. I mean, 10 years? Already? Where has the time gone?

In its infancy, Wanye and the Squire launched this space out of anger and was originally titled BringRyanHome.com, a tribute site built around the Ryan Smyth trade that sent him to New York. At the time, the boys were in shambles, their emotions were in tatters, and they needed an outlet to express their grief at the loss of Ryan Smyth. Since that space for fans to express themselves didn’t exist, the boys took it upon themselves to start one and here we all are 10 years later. It’s pretty amazing when you really think about it.

With 10 years in the books, we wanted to get everybody together and throw a shaker to commemorate the occasion and thank all of you for your continued support. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs together over this past decade and we wanted to close out the season with a bash that shows our appreciation for each and every one of you. Even though the year hasn’t gone the way we wanted, we’re still in this together and that’s exactly what this website was built around. If you’ve ever been to one of our events before you already know that we love getting the Nation together, letting loose, and raising some money for Hockey Helps the Homeless while we’re at it.

This time around, we’ve got a ridiculous swag bag ($100+ value) for everyone that buys a ticket, we’ve shaken down our partners for as many giveaway prizes as possible, and we’ve put together all kinds of games entertainment to keep you going all night long. Still not enough? We’re also going to buy a beer for the first 100 people that get to The Pint to make sure that you’re staying hydrated while also perusing the Pro-Am silent charity auction. Basically, what I’m saying is that this party will have something for everyone and we put a lot of effort into making this the greatest party we’ve ever put on and you’re going to want to be there.

If there was ever a Nation event to attend then it’s this one.
