The Photoshop Finalists

The Oilers losses keep mounting, and the Nation awaits what kind of changes will be made (if any) throughout the organization.  Until then, it’s my job to keep things light around here, and try to have some fun in one of the darkest times in Oilers history.  Enter the photoshop contest.  As always, the entries were hilarious.  Today, we pick the winners. 

This entry is awesome.  I’m a huge fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I really appreciate the reference.  I know that Dallas Eakins is moonlighting as Jack Skellington in this picture, but to be fair, it was received before the firing.  This entry deserves a lot of credit.  Not only did it make us all laugh, it fits in perfectly with the Christmas theme. 

Working the phones, and trying to make trades, can really wear on a person, and I think that’s what this entry is going for.  After spending months in the tailspin that is the 2014-15 Oilers season, MacT needs some time to unwind, and Christmas is the perfect time to sit back with a Cognac and take a minute to reflect. This is a great entry.  Rest well, MacT, you’ve got plenty of work to do. 

Oh my Gord is this an awesome entry.  It will be interesting to see how many people can catch the Christmas reference in this picture.  Once you get it, you realize how awesome this entry is.  Again, I understand that Dallas Eakins is featured prominently, but I received this entry before the Eakins firing.  Really well done, sir. 

For the past 30 years, Oilers fans have been tortured by the ghosts of Oilers past.  Whether or not we ever return to glory remains to be seen, but the haunting will surely continue.  Now that Dallas Eakins is gone, I can’t help but wonder how long it will take Lowe to slither out of a drain pipe, and into the Oilers dressing room, to replace all the Boys on the Bus pictures that had been removed?

I’m sure you’ve all heard the Mariah Carey song, “All I Want for Christmas is You.” This photoshop entry is the personification of that song.  Connor McDavid, we’ve got our eyes on you, and so does MacT (according to our fine artist).  Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until the draft lottery to find out of our beloved gift will be coming home with us.   Great, great entry.
