The Sounds of Silence

 
(The general reaction by OilersNation staffers to the playoffs)

You know those little robot toys that bump into walls and then automatically change directions? That’s how I feel right now. I’m trying to watch and enjoy the playoffs, but my brain can’t do so outside of the context of the Oilers.

I tried to watch and cheer for the Habs, like the folks over at one of my favourite Oilers blogs. But even then, I couldn’t get too excited. I watch the Sharks drop a 3-0 lead over the Shames last night… and all I could think is that the Sharks were behaving like the Oilers. I mean, who can drop a 3-0 lead like us, you know?

I haven’t even bothered watching Philly and the Caps. All I do is troll the web for the latest news on what the Oilers are doing.

And just what ARE they doing? Well, aside from the fact that Kevin Lowe’s been busy, the Oilers are probably renewing golf memberships, rolling on dubs, and ghost-riding the whip.

Oh well, lambs. We have a lot to look forward to next year. And even this summer. We’ll have some a few contests over the next few weeks, so keep checking the Nation for all the excitement of the off-season… And maybe a few spy pics of the Oil on the golf course.
