The Summer Vacation Photoshop Finalists

Over the past week I’ve been collecting entries for the Summer Vacation photoshop contest. As always, the Nation stepped up to the plate and absolutely crushed it. Now comes the hard part… We have to pick a winner.

Before we get started on the voting, I want to give a big shout out to everyone that entered the photoshop contest. There were so many great entries that it was really tough to cut them down to the final six presented below. Unfortunately, there can only be one winner and that means we have to cut the entries down. I still want to make sure that all the entries are shown so I’ll be posting them up on our Facebook page and on Instagram/Twitter. 

Thank you so much to all of you that took the time to put something together. I always love the photoshop contests and you guys are the reason for it. *standing applause*

This entry made us all laugh from the jump. Weekend and Bernie’s was a classic, and probably one of the dumbest concepts of all time. The fact that they felt it was necessary to make a second one (four years later I might add) was absolutely ludicrous. Anyway… I love this idea. For years Oilers fans have been carted around like puppets with false hope of a playoff appearance, but the changes this summer have given us hope. ACTUAL HOPE! Great entry.

Who doesn’t love a trip to the waterpark? Sure, you may get covered in bandaids and child piss but that’s just a small price to pay for a day in the sun with your buddies. Look how happy my sweet Nail is! He probably hasn’t been this happy since Ralph Kreuger was coaching the team. I am worried about little Nugey, though. He seems to have fallen off off his tube and could be going rogue. Someone needs to throw a lifejacket on him.

Man did I laugh when I saw this. Not only is the concept funny it also offers a glimpse into the defensive shortcomings of the organization. I think even Justin Schultz would admit that there is much to be desired when it comes to the defensive aspects of his game. Will Andrej Sekera be able to support him with the same bravado as seen in the photo above? Only time will tell. Had these two been jumping a shark it would be a runaway favourite.

There’s no better way to spend a summer than down on the beach getting your bronze on. Not only is our group of heroes spending their summer at the beach, they’re also saving lives. That’s admirable no matter how you look at it. Not to mention, check out the physique on both Connor McDavid and Darnell Nurse. They’re both ripped! Only downside of this photo is the fact that there’s no way on Gord’s green earth that lil Nugey could ever grow chest hair. Luckily the inclusion of 90s babes makes up for that misstep. 

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? Why wasn’t anyone watching Nugey? Why wasn’t anyone making sure that he didn’t wade out past his shins? I appreciate the fact that all these youngsters chose to wear their helmets while swimming but someone needs to take control of the situation and make sure that no one gets hurt. Safety precautions can only take us so far – we need to execute. Luckily everyone seems to be okay, but this could have gone terribly bad.

P.S. Not sure why Leon Draisaitl chose to wear S&M attire to the beach. He’s going to end up with a very odd tan line. 

From where I sit, there’s no better way to do some bonding than a camping trip with the boys. Setting up a tent, doing some fishing, and being one with nature is the perfect team building experience. My only concern would be that there is absolutely no adult supervision happening here. With Justin Schultz being the oldest in this group, I’m worried about their ability to fend of any attacks from bears. It’s a real concern you know. Bonus points awarded for sneaking in some NationGear/logos into the finished artwork. Well done!
