TROLOLOLOL: BATTLE OF ALBERTA EDITION

Back in the day you couldn’t swing a cat in the OilersNation without hitting a good ol’ TROLOLOL party. The fact my spell check keeps correcting it to TROLLOP shows us how long it has been since we have had any reason to celebrate wildly around these parts.
But with a 7-3 beatdown in Cowtown to complete the first Oilers season sweep of a Battle of Alberta since 1977 – even the most bitter and mistrusting of Oilers fans is starting to come to the startling conclusion that the Oilers are no longer a team trained to break hearts and send us all to bed on Saturday Nights in a rage.
Connor McDavid now has a 4 point lead in the NHL scoring.
The Oilers are now 9 points up on Calgary for 4th in the Pacific.
Travel agencies all over Northern Alberta report plans for Mid April are being cancelled at a furious pace as travellers report “something better to do” than leave town.
It isn’t time to break out the celebration beers quite yet, but it is more than time to take pause on January 21 and breathe deeply knowing we aren’t absorbing the sewer gas that settles in the basement of the NHL.
But man oh man the celebration is on the horizon.
Leave a few words of excited celebration in the comments as we start to warm up to the fact that the Oilers are legit. Oh and that Calgary got straight up spanked in the Battle Of Alberta.
Welcome back TROLOLOL man.
