Another NHL Draft is in the books and Dusty Nielson was there to witness it all. In his latest video from Dallas, Nielson gives us the breakdown on all things Oilers at the Draft, including their selection of Evan Bouchard at 10th overall and the four picks that followed in the later rounds. He also dives into the trades and signings that happened around the NHL, and whether or not the Oilers should try to score Justin Faulk out of Carolina.
Topics of discussions:
  • Evan Bouchard and what he means to the Oilers
  • How Ryan McLeod fits on the depth chart and why they traded up to grab Olivier Rodrigue
  • Why drafting Michael Kisselman out of the USHL makes sense in the long-term
  • Should the Oilers chase Justin Faulk?
  • Breaks down the trade that happened between the Calgary Flames and Carolina Hurricanes that sent Dougie Hamilton, Ferland, and Fox out of town for Noah Hanifin and Elias Lindholm.
  • More importantly, Dusty is giving away his Draft worn shoes that he seemingly hates for being uncomfortable. I don’t know why you’d want them, but there you go.
