So you’ve got tickets to an Edmonton Oilers game — that’s awesome! It means you get to see two of the best players in the NHL, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
But before you head in the doors of Rogers Place, there are some important changes to note.
Most notably is the need for proof of vaccination for those aged 12 and up. Attendees will be asked to provide either proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test result from a healthcare provider taken with 72 hours of the game’s start time. More information on those requirements is available here.
Rogers Place has enforced a new bag policy this season to accelerate fan entry into the arena. Bags are no longer permitted to enter the arena and instead, only small clutch bags and wallets are permitted. Exemptions to this policy exist for diaper bags and medically necessary items.
Regardless of vaccination status, Rogers Place is mandating masks at all times in the arena, except when actively eating or drinking. Masks must be made with at least two layers of breathable material and fully covering the nose and mouth.
“Based on public health guidance, neck gaiters; open-chin triangle bandanas; face coverings containing valves, mesh material, or holes of any kind; costume masks; or clear face shields worn on their own, are not acceptable forms of face coverings,” the Rogers Place website explained.
Rogers Place has partnered with Reef Events to help provide parking passes in surrounding lots and parkades this year. On top of that, the ICE District Central Parkade is now open providing direct access to Rogers Place. More information on parking can be found here.
The arena will also undergo increased cleaning and sanitation before, during and after events, particularly in high traffic and high touch areas, the Rogers Place arena explained.
Once again, 50/50’s are back and will be available in arena and online.
