LYNN: My day job sees me working as an outside sales rep for a large company with offices all around the world. My current territory covers SW Edmonton all the way to Jasper. I’m normally away for work a few days a month and spend about 50,000 km per year behind the wheel, but like so many people, I have mostly been home based for the last year. I am extremely grateful to have been working the entire time, but I am definitely a people person, and I’ve missed that customer interaction tremendously.

I’m passionate about a ton of things, I am a Leo and we are either all in, or all out, there is no in between. I follow quite a few different sports closely, aside from hockey I love to watch curling, Indy Car racing and I take vacation time every year to watch my March Madness bracket fall apart. My biggest passion is music though. I worked in the industry for about 13 years, spending most of my time with HMV, and doing contract work with a couple of different record labels. Live music is definitely where its at for me. From small club shows to 3 day festivals, I’ve been lucky enough to see somewhere in the vicinity of 1000 live shows.

LYNN: That’s an easy answer, my dad. When I was little, I wanted to be everywhere he was, crying when he left my sight. I grew up snuggled up to him on Saturday nights watching hockey games. Before we had seasons tickets, he would put me in the car when a game was on the radio and let Rod Phillips do the storytelling. He also loved curling, we had a neighbour who ran the Avonair curling club, and she would let him bring me down there and run around all day like I owned the place.

LYNN: I can’t not say Wayne Gretzky, but I also really loved Kevin Lowe. Jordan Eberle is the last player my dad was really drawn to before he passed away, so he will always be special to me as well.

LYNN: Truthfully, it’s hard to pick just one. I went to my first game when I was eight, and never looked back. A few that definitely stand out though are the playoff game against Dallas in 1997 when we came back from being behind and Bucky scored in OT, Ryan Smyth’s last game, and the OT game in 2017 when Desharnais scored the winner.

LYNN: Over the last decade I’ve spent time volunteering with GEARS (an animal rescue), Meals On Wheels, Front Yards in Bloom, Santa’s Anonymous and a few different political campaigns.  Without question the best part of the experiences I’ve had have been the people I’ve connected with. From the clients I met at Meals on Wheels, to the people excited to show off their garden when I deliver signs for Front Yards in Bloom, everybody has impacted me in some way.

LYNN: Well, I can tell you quite easily what Jen and Krista mean to me. They really are a force to be reckoned with. Jen just wants to do as much as she can for people and doesn’t expect anything in return, her passion to make this event better every year is inspiring. Krista is the glue that holds us together, she’s thoughtful and smart, and that megawatt grin saved my sanity in the days leading up to the 2019 event. This event is really their baby. I supported the first one by attending and donating and then realized that I wanted to try and help in any way I could. Being a territory manager by trade kind of goes hand in hand with helping to plan a large event.

The event itself started out as a small scale idea to support our friend Allie and get a bunch of women together to watch an Oiler game, the first one was planned on the fly, with a short time frame and man did people ever come through. The second one is where I think the four of us realized how big of a difference we could make. All four of us had people reaching out, asking how they could help, donate and support us. Quite honestly, it was humbling to see it all come together. To be trending on Twitter during the event itself was something none of us expected. We were so close to staging the event last year when we had to postpone it, but all four of us are excited and ready to get going again once it is safe to do so.

I also want to give a special shout out to Carly Dermott who gave us our logo, it might sound like a small thing, but every time I look at it, I am grateful to her.
