It’s Friday afternoon and that means we’re hitting you with a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you finish off what’s left of your week with an hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today’s show, we looked at the Jasper Pond Hockey tournament the Nation participated in last week, first impressions on Evander Kane, the all-star break, and a whole lot more.

To kick off this week’s podcast, we jumped in with a look at Evander Kane and everyone offered their takes on how he’s looked so far in his Oilers career. It’s only been three games, but it’s hard to argue that he hasn’t held up his end of the bargain for what’s expected of him on the ice and on the scoresheet. From there, we looked at the Jasper Pond Hockey tournament that took place last weekend and how we can’t wait to get back next year now that we’ve had a taste of what is possible. Turning things back to the Oilers, we looked at the first half of the NHL season and offered our high and low points from the first 42 games. From the first goals against to the comeback win against the New York Rangers, we had a wide list of what’s been working and what hasn’t so far. Next up, Tyler Yaremchuk jumped on the podcast from his hotel room in Vegas and gave us a quick run through of what the last couple of days have been like, including a story about how he went to the wrong hotel before finally figuring out where he was staying. Tyler is covering the NHL All-Star Game for us this weekend and it was fun to hear him run through what it’s been like to attend the ASG as a member of the media. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap what was a very busy week here in Edmonton.
