Jujhar Khaira is killing it in the AHL, kicking out the jams and knocking on the NHL door once again. He headlines an impressive week for Edmonton’s prospects in minor, college and junior leagues.

          1. Andrew Miller had his best week in the AHL.
          2. Jujhar Khaira was splendid all week, posting offensive but also playing a physical style. Impossible for the management back in Edmonton to ignore.
          3. Anders Nilsson lost his NHL gig (for now) but didn’t sulk. Strong week.
          4. Ethan Bear had a fantastic week, scoring a goal Sunday to go with six assists.
          5. Tyler Vesel had a strong week, one of the few college performances this season that received legit black ink.

I watched the Condors game this afternoon. Andrew Miller was the best player on the ice for both teams.

Nilsson looked fine until he let a weak one by in the third to let San Jose get back in. Condors held on for the win. The Condors should teach the Oilers how to cycle, wow.

Ben Smith of San Jose looked really good, had me thinking. He’s better than Korp.

Always chear for our prospects but the cuboard is pretty empty .I hope Chia holds on to the picks this year ,we will need those elc contracts in a few years when Mcd Drai and Nurse get there big dollars .I for one would like to see what Bob Green can get us ,he biult the Oil Kings pretty fast

                  • The Soup Fascist

He wouldn’t be at the top of the league in anything other than groin injuries with this bunch playing in front of him. Apples and oranges.

Since Talbot’s short side / bad angle meltdown(s) earlier this season he has been very good.

It is Rienhart we wouldnt have ,he is at best a future 6 or 7 really sounds like Mct Klowe and Howsen bent Chias ear .I bet he does not make that trade today. I agree with Anon stock the system with good prospects we will need the elc contracts. Also injury replacements look what happened this year with injuries no good capable players to replace Ebs Mcd or Klef.Only trade your high picks when you on the cusp of winning the cup

Barzal is another undersized forward, do we really need another one.
Nuge, Eberle, Yakupov, Miller …. Hall and McDavid all play Barzal’s game.

I thought we are trying to be harder to play against?

Kylington – we have an NHL starting goalie

Once again, Matt Ford put up strong numbers. Nobody ever mentions him as a call up option. Why? He has good size, is a bit old but has solid numbers.

Khaira is playing great, that time in the NHL helped boost his confidence. I still hope they don’t rush him, if he plays another year in the minors it will help develop his offense where he can be a Clutterbuck/Tom Wilson type that puts points on the board in the NHL as well. He just needs to spend more timer learning to score with his size, bringing him to the NHL full time before he lears that will turn him into a one dimensional 4th line player that scores 8 pts a season. Be patient and he could score 20+ pts a season.

Jar Jar and Miller could help the Oilers. Too much size is never a bad thing. And Andrew can provide better offence then most guys in the bottom six.

I’d like to see Osterle and Musil before the end of the season as well.
