Opponents this week
- The Oilers play the Pittsburgh Penguins again tomorrow and lucky for us they’re a little more beat up this time around than last week. Matt Hunwick, whose injury didn’t seem to affect the result of last game, is still on the IR with a concussion. The only other difference is that two-time, Stanley Cup champion, Justin Schultz is not playing due to a concussion as well. This is terrible news for the Penguins and amazing news for the Oilers. We must take advantage of the opportunity as two of the Pens best defencemen are injured.
The #Pens have recalled d-man Frank Corrado from the @WBSPenguins. Justin Schultz has been placed on IR. Details: https://t.co/bkSHwT9RCs pic.twitter.com/l5zhUPJzGh

- Taylor Hall & the New Jersey Devils return to Edmonton this coming Friday with a partially injured squad as well. Kyle Palmeri (foot), Andy Greene (personal), and Marcus Johansson (lower body) are all sidelined and considered day-to-day. Will this make an impact on the game? Probably not a large one. Johansson has already been skating so he could very well end up playing on Friday. The Devils are 8-2 right now and don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

- On Sunday the Detroit Red Wings are in town trying to crawl above a .500 record. Johan Franzen has been on the IR for most of the season due to concussion-like symptoms and Danny DeKeyser is day-to-day with an ankle injury. The Wings have been brutal as of late so that only means that they’ll probably come out flying on Sunday night against the Oilers. Let’s all cross our fingers for a few more key (but non serious) injuries this week to make our Sunday game as easy as possible.
Jeff Blashill said Danny DeKeyser out another 10 days to 3 weeks. Will stay off Ice for a week. No recall for now. #RedWings
